2007 Highlights – A Year in Revue

As we look back, we thank God for another year of blessings and provision.  Some things stand out as making 2007 memorable.  Here are just a few:
On May 7, 2007 we added a new member to our family.  Miss Kaylee Marie was born to Marcus and Roxanne, making Curtis a BIG brother!  She is such a blessing and already seems to really enjoy the music.  Truly a gift from God!
In July we made our way to Idaho for our annual Singing West of the Tetons in Ashton.  It was a good tour but the trip up was an experience.  June and July were the months when Texas and Oklahoma were having all the flooding.  We left home and headed north in the middle of flood rains.  God was undoubtedly with us every step of the way.  On more than one occasion we were a day or even a few hours ahead of the road closures due to floodwaters cresting over the interstates.  There was no doubt in our minds that we were witnessing another miracle of God.
In November and December we took our Christmas tour.  This year it took us out toward California.  While we were there we had the opportunity to minister with former member Cheryl Bragg Zwiebel and her husband Dirk and daughter Kelayla in three reunion concerts.  As you can imagine Nana and Papa (Barbara and James) were thrilled to have all three grandchildren together for these special concerts.
We ended our Christmas tour and our year by once again being allowed to minister in a truck stop restaurant in West Texas.  It was the third year in a row that door had opened for us.  As always it is such an honor to serve God in a venue where we can reach out to people who wouldn’t ordinarily come to a church service or Christian concert.

We praise God for another year in his service

New Year – New Things

The first part of this year has been spent laying a lot of groundwork for the rest of the year and ministering mostly in Texas on the weekends.  We are really gearing up for extended summer touring.  Pray with us, as we continue to plan our tours for the rest of the year, that God’s perfect will would be accomplished.  God has laid the verses Isaiah 43:18 and 19 on our hearts this year.  It says, “Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.  Behold I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”  We pray our hearts and minds would be open to the new things he has in store for us in the coming year.
Already this year our ministry has been blessed in ways that are unmistakably from God.  Marcus needed a faster more up to date computer for video editing, web building and web site maintenance for the ministry.  He was hoping to get it after the first of the year but it just wasn’t in the budget.  In January a friend who knew he needed one told him not to spend any money because he already had one for him.  The computer turned out to be the exact one that Marcus had been saying would be his first choice!
The ministry also needed a web site.  The same friend, who provided the computer, also provided a web server for our web site and the latest programming for Marcus to use to build it.  It is so reassuring to know that God knows our needs and loves us each so much!

We praise God for a new year and new opportunities to serve Him.
